December Math Morning Work for Kindergarten to 5th Grade
One page a morning for twenty school days: a daily spiral of the skills your grade has taught since September, two or three to a page, so the first ten minutes of a busy December day run themselves. One packet per grade, Kindergarten through 5th, with a tracker and answer keys.

How a December morning runs
December is the month the schedule stops being yours. Concert practice, a party, an assembly and the countdown to break all land on the same weeks. Morning work is the part of the day that can stay the same: one familiar page, the skills already taught, before anything else happens.
Each packet is twenty pages, one per school day, each page two or three short blocks of familiar math. December has about 14 to 16 school days before winter break, so the last pages carry into January, and the tracker counts days, not dates.
What is in every packet
- A note for the teacher and families, one page, with how the routine works.
- What we practice in December: every skill in plain words, with its standard.
- A twenty-day tracker with what each day covers.
- Twenty day pages, two or three skills a page.
- Answer keys numbered to every page, and a certificate for the finished twenty days.
Kindergarten December math morning work
The Kindergarten packet (29 pages, 125 problems, $5.95) is teacher-led, about ten minutes a day: counting pictures, numbers to 10 with what comes before and after, comparing, and flat shapes. Addition within 8 appears in four short blocks from Day 10, as a first look.
1st grade December math morning work
The 1st grade packet (30 pages, 254 problems, $5.95) pairs two skills a page: addition and subtraction facts, tens and ones, counting on, and short story problems. Facts with numbers from 17 to 20 join on Day 11.
2nd grade December math morning work
The 2nd grade packet (30 pages, 251 problems, $5.95) puts two digit addition or subtraction on every one of the twenty days, beside two step stories, measuring in inches, facts within 20 or skip counting.
3rd grade December math morning work
The 3rd grade packet (30 pages, 308 problems, $5.95) works the whole times table, with factors from 6 to 9 from Day 3, alongside three digit addition and subtraction and rounding. Multiplying by multiples of 10 appears from Day 12 as a preview.
4th grade December math morning work
The 4th grade packet (29 pages, 147 problems, $5.95) runs dividing by a one digit number all month, with quotients past 20 from Day 12, beside multi digit multiplication and place value. Multiplying two two digit numbers joins on Day 11.
5th grade December math morning work
The 5th grade packet (29 pages, 160 problems, $5.95) keeps decimals, long division with two digit divisors and multi digit multiplication in rotation. Adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators joins on Day 8, with a worked example.
The K-5 bundle
The December Math Morning Work bundle holds all six packets, 177 pages, for $24.95 against $35.70 bought separately. November's packets are on the November morning work page, and the week before break has its own Christmas math packets.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a page of December math morning work take?
About ten minutes read aloud in Kindergarten, ten to fifteen in 1st grade, and six to fourteen in 2nd through 5th, depending on the grade and the day. Each cover prints the time its own pages measure. That is the length of a morning warm up, with time left to check it together.
Why twenty days when December is shorter than that?
December has about 14 to 16 school days before winter break, so the last pages carry into January. The tracker uses day numbers instead of dates on purpose, so the packet picks up where the class left off when school starts again.
Is it new teaching or review?
Review of the skills taught from September to December, two or three to a page, so students can start it on their own while you take attendance. A few blocks preview what comes next and say so on the page. If a block has not come up in your class yet, skip it and come back.
Can Kindergarten do December morning work alone?
Not yet, and the packet does not pretend otherwise. The Kindergarten pages are teacher-led: every block opens with a Read aloud line, the adult reads each question, and the child circles, writes a number or draws the shape.
Does it follow on from November?
Yes. It is the same routine as the November Math Morning Work: a note, a What We Practice page, a twenty-day tracker, twenty day pages, answer keys and a certificate, with the skills moved on to where most classes are in December.
